Brian D'Oliveira to Give 2 Talks at MIGS
2012 . 10 . 02
From November 13 - 14, Montreal will become the hub for the world's most influential video game designers, distributors, and programmers with the annual Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS). Among those presenting the latest in gaming innovations and ideas are representatives of Microsoft, Ubisoft, Eidos, Unity, Wwise, as well as La Hacienda Creative studio owner/composer, Brian D'Oliveira.
Brian and his team were able to create AAA sound and music for indie PSN game, "Papo & Yo", by using the La Hacienda Creative studio facilities and setting-up sound engine Wwise in-house. By implementing the sound and music in La Hacienda Creative with Wwise, as opposed to in the game developer's studio, Brian and the sound team had complete artistic freedom and Minority Inc was able to save on audio production costs.
At MIGS, Brian will give a presentation titled "Thinking Outside the Box Inside the Box: New Horizons in Music and Sound Implementation", in which he will explain the process of "Papo & Yo", outlining the advangtages and disadvantages of this new form of game audio production.
Wwise has also asked him to give a presentation on how he and his sound team used the sound engine in "Papo & Yo", along with a representative of the sound team behind "Batman: Arkam City".
