Miss Inc.: A Look Into the Beauty Industry

Cosmetic dental and plastic surgery, fancy clothes, high heels and crowns: simple needs for the next Miss Venezuela. Venezuela itself is the champion of beauty contests. After oil, beauty is the second largest industry in the country.

In this new documentary, Pimiento Productions takes a into the "Miss" empire through the eyes of two young girls training to become the next winner, all within the context of the government of Hugo Chavez.

La Hacienda Creative created original music for the documentary, fusing traditional South American sounds and "electro latino" and using instruments such as the charango, the Venezuelan quatro, the flute of "bagpipe," Afro-Venezuelan percussion and Afro-Colombian to create an authentic musical atmosphere.
